Tadalafil is a drug that is used to treat problems with male sexual function (impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED). When used in conjunction with sexual stimulation, tadalafil helps a man achieve and maintain an erection by increasing blood flow to the penis.
The tadalafil is also used to treat the signs and symptoms of a prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). It aids in the relief of BPH symptoms such as difficulty initiating urine flow, a weak stream, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently (including during the middle of the night).
The smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder is thought to relax when tadalafil is taken. This medication will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis). Use latex condoms and practice “safe sex.” For more information, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
