Precautions of Viagra Tablets

In patients with preexisting cardiovascular disease, sexual activity may pose a cardiac risk. As a result, erectile dysfunction medications, such as VIAGRA, should not be used routinely in men who are unable to engage in sexual activity due to their underlying cardiovascular condition.

Following a thorough medical examination, an evaluation of erectile dysfunction should include a determination of potential underlying causes and the identification of appropriate treatment options.

Patients with left ventricular outflow obstruction (e.g., aortic stenosis, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis) and severe impaired autonomic blood pressure control should use viagra with caution.

In healthy volunteers, viagra’s systemic vasodilatory properties resulted in transient decreases in supine blood pressure (mean maximum decrease of 8.4/5.5 mmHg).

While this would normally be of little consequence in most patients, physicians should carefully consider whether their patients with underlying cardiovascular disease may be adversely affected by such vasodilatory effects, especially when combined with sexual activity, before prescribing viagra.
